Allianz Arena and Camp Nou awarded Champions League finals in 2028 and 2029

UEFA has chosen Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena to host the 2028 Champions League final, with Barcelona’s Camp Nou selected for the following year.

The decisions were confirmed by UEFA’s executive committee at its meeting on Tuesday morning.

The Allianz Arena had been regarded as the leading candidate for the 2028 showpiece. It has previously staged the Champions League final in 2012 and hosted the 2025 final.

Camp Nou will welcome the 2029 final once its redevelopment has been completed. The renovated stadium is expected to have a capacity of 105,000 spectators, with all work scheduled to finish during the first months of 2028.

Barcelona faced competition from Wembley to stage the 2029 final, but the club’s home was ultimately awarded hosting rights.

The final will be the third Champions League showpiece held in Barcelona, following the 1989 and 1999 finals.

Atletico Madrid’s Metropolitano stadium is scheduled to host the Champions League final in 2027.
