Alioune Sylla: Benevento sign Senegal goalkeeper on free transfer from Siracusa

Benevento have signed Senegal goalkeeper Alioune Sylla from Siracusa on a free transfer. The 22-year-old has agreed a contract with the Serie B club until 30 June 2028 after leaving the Serie D side at the end of last season.

Sylla, who stands at 1.98m and is left-footed, moves up two tiers in the Italian league system as Benevento reshape their squad for the new campaign. His arrival follows a season with Siracusa, whom he rejoined in September 2025 after a brief spell without a club.

Born in Louga, Senegal, Sylla has spent his senior career in Italian football with lower-division sides. Before joining Siracusa, he played for Imperia, having previously been on the books of Zena Montecelio and Les Ferus. Each of his moves so far has been completed on a free transfer.

Syllas transfer continues a rapid rise from regional competition to the professional ranks, with his market valuation currently set at around 25,000. The long-term deal gives Benevento security over his future as they look to strengthen depth in the goalkeeping department for their push in Serie B.

The Senegalese keeper will now compete for a place in Beneventos first team after completing his move from Siracusa.
