Senegalese winger Aliou Diao has joined Czech side SFC Opava from Hlucin, signing a contract with the club until 30 June 2028. The 22-year-old left-sided attacker completes his move ahead of the new campaign as Opava look to strengthen their options in wide areas.

Diao arrives from fellow Czech club Hlucin, where he had been playing since February 2026 after a short spell without a club. His switch to Opava marks the latest step in a rapid rise through Central European football over the past three seasons.

Primarily a left winger, Diao has built a reputation as an attacking outlet across the Slovak and Czech lower leagues. He has made more than 60 senior league appearances, scoring four goals and providing five assists in the Slovak second tier, and adding seven goals and an assist in 17 outings in the MSFL. He has also shown an eye for goal in cup competitions, netting three times in five appearances in the Slovnaft Cup.

Born on 17 October 2003, Diao’s career in Europe began with Mbour P.C. before a move to Vlasim in early 2023. He later joined Tatran Presov, where he experienced loan spells and helped the club secure the Slovak second tier title in the 2024-25 season. Short stints at Stara Lubovna and a period without a club followed before Hlucin offered him a route back into regular football.

Diao now commits his future to SFC Opava on a deal running to 2028 as the Czech club reshape their squad for the seasons ahead.
