Ali Mouandhu: France-Comoros defender joins US Chauvigny on free transfer

France-Comoros right-back Ali Mouandhu has joined US Chauvigny on a free transfer from Vannes. The 21-year-old defender moves after a season with the Breton club and will continue his career in the French lower leagues with his new side.

Mouandhu, who was born in Mitsamiouli and stands at 1.76m, specialises at right-back and plays predominantly with his right foot. His arrival adds depth to Chauvigny’s defensive options and follows the expiry of his stint at Vannes, which he had also joined on a free transfer.

The defender first moved into senior football with Olympique Ales in 2024 after leaving Montpellier’s youth ranks. He then switched to Vannes in the summer of 2025 before sealing his latest move to Chauvigny ahead of the new campaign.

Across youth and senior competitions, Mouandhu has built up regular game time in the French system, including appearances in National 2 and National 3 as well as outings in the Coupe de France. His record shows more than 60 competitive matches, with a handful of goals and an assist from full-back.

Mouandhu’s transfer to US Chauvigny, completed on 13 July 2026, is a permanent free transfer from Vannes.
