Bordeaux is currently conducting a trial for Ali Mohamed, a 17-year-old Nigerien prospect, based on the recommendation of Gernot Rohr, the coach of Niger. Rohr describes Mohamed as a “very lively, very technical, very intelligent playmaker,” highlighting his positive attributes despite his smaller stature (1.70m).
Mohamed has already earned two selections with the Niger national team in June. Rohr attests to his standout performance against Burkina Faso, where he was deemed the best, and his commendable showing against Gabon, facing off against Biyogho Poko.
The young prospect will continue his trial with Bordeaux throughout the month of August and will train with the reserve team. The ambition is for Mohamed to follow in the footsteps of André Poko, who was tested in 2011 on Rohr’s recommendation and is now a professional with the Girondins.
