Ali Abdi has earned his place at OGC Nice, and the club has rewarded him with a contract extension until 2027.
Initially brought in as a late-window addition from SM Caen, the 31-year-old left-back has exceeded expectations in Ligue 1.
Abdi’s impact has been undeniable. Named Ligue 2’s best left-back in consecutive seasons before his move, he quickly adapted to the top tier, marking his arrival with a goal in a 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain. He added another in a 4-2 win over Stade de Reims while also setting up crucial goals in victories against AS Monaco (2-1) and Stade Brestois (1-0).
Despite arriving as a “substitute” transfer for €500,000 outside the regular window, Abdi has played a bigger role than many anticipated. His performances have cemented his spot in the squad, making his contract renewal a logical step for both player and club.
On the international stage, Abdi debuted for Tunisia on 25 March 2021 in an AFCON qualifier against Libya and remains a key part of the national team setup.
