The Stade du 5 Juillet in Algiers, with a seating capacity of 110,000, is set to undergo renovation and receive a new lawn. The closure of the stadium will commence after the final of the Algerian football cup in the 2012/2013 season. The Minister of Youth and Sport, Mohamed Tahmi, announced that the new lawn installation will be swift, with work starting immediately after the final and expected to be completed within two to three months. The renovation aims to maintain the stadium in optimal condition throughout the year, not just for national team matches. The upcoming international friendly between Algeria and Bosnia-Herzegovina on November 14 will be the first match played on the revamped field.
