Andy Delort, Mouloudia Club d’Alger’s new forward, has secured a spot on Algeria’s preliminary squad list ahead of the upcoming November international break. The seasoned striker’s recent performances in the Algerian league have garnered attention, earning the confidence of Algeria’s head coach Vladimir Petkovic.

Since joining MCA, Delort has made his mark in the local championship, impressing with consistent performances.

In five appearances this season, he has found the net once, scoring in a key match against Paradou on the second day of league action.

His efforts seem to have caught the eye of Petkovic, who included Delort in Algeria’s pre-list for the national side’s upcoming fixtures.

A former French youth international, Delort, 33, made the switch to represent Algeria in 2019.

Since his debut with the “Fennecs,” he has played in 15 matches across various competitions, registering two goals and one assist.

His most recent cap came in March 2023, when he featured in Algeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger.

For Delort, this potential recall marks a significant milestone after some time away from the national side, offering him another chance to contribute to Algeria’s ambitions.
