Algeria’s AFCON 2025 tickets sell out within hours

Tickets for Algeria’s matches at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) have sold out within hours of going on sale, confirming the immense enthusiasm surrounding the competition set to take place in Morocco.

After weeks of anticipation and a false start on 25 September, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) finally opened its electronic ticketing system for the tournament — and the response was immediate.

According to organisers, only two teams have seen their games sell out entirely: hosts Morocco and Algeria.

The rush for tickets began as soon as the system went live, with fans eager to secure seats for what promises to be one of the most competitive AFCON editions in recent history.

The demand was so intense that tickets for Algeria’s three group-stage fixtures were completely gone within hours.

A similar trend was seen with Morocco’s games, as well as for the tournament’s opening match and final, which also sold out rapidly.

Tickets for the Algerian team are no longer available, organisers confirmed, adding that the surge in traffic briefly caused delays before sales resumed normally.

Once access was restored, supporters wasted no time filling the virtual queues, resulting in record-breaking sales for both North African giants.

Beyond the two nations, ticket sales for other teams have been notably slower, with availability remaining for most fixtures involving sides outside the Maghreb region.

Despite this, organisers insist that demand remains steady overall, especially for knockout-stage matches expected to feature the continent’s top contenders.

The initial sales plan had outlined several phases, with around 30% of tickets to be released in each wave over a span of weeks.

However, the overwhelming rush for Algeria’s matches has left uncertainty over whether additional allocations will be made available later.

The sell-out once again highlights Algeria’s passionate football culture, as well as the deep rivalry and mutual respect between Algerian and Moroccan supporters.

Both nations are tipped as strong contenders for the title, adding to the excitement and anticipation around their group-stage encounters.

For now, fans who missed out will have to wait for possible future sales or secondary market releases.

With the competition just two months away, Morocco’s preparations are in full swing — and the early ticket frenzy suggests that the 2025 AFCON will unfold in front of packed, electric crowds.
