The Algerian women’s national team concluded their training camp for local players this Thursday, with a scheduled practice match against CR Belouizdad cancelled due to adverse weather.

The camp, which began on Sunday at the National Technical Centre (CTN) in Sidi Moussa and continued in Blida, was overseen by coach Farid Benstiti and his technical staff.

It focused on evaluating domestic players for potential inclusion in the extended squad for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, scheduled from March 17 to April 3.

The camp opened with physical assessments on Sunday morning, followed by technical and tactical sessions at Mustapha Tchaker Stadium.

On Monday, the team played a practice match against ASE Alger Centre, securing an 11-0 victory, highlighting the dominance of some local players under close observation.

Tuesday’s sessions combined technical workshops and in-game scenarios, allowing coaches to assess players’ decision-making, positioning, and readiness for international competition.

The second scheduled practice match, against CR Belouizdad on Wednesday, was cancelled in line with the Algerian Football Federation’s decision to suspend all matches due to inclement weather.

In place of on-field action, players attended a video analysis session led by Benstiti.

The session included breakdowns of game phases, freeze-frame analysis, tactical explanations, and individualized guidance to maximize learning despite the cancellation of the match.

Officials noted that the FAF plans to arrange one or two international fixtures in the near future to provide additional evaluation opportunities and help domestic players gain competitive experience.

The camp underscores the federation’s commitment to strengthening the national team by closely monitoring local talent and preparing them for continental competition.

By combining training, tactical instruction, and match simulations, the technical staff aims to build a cohesive squad capable of competing at the Africa Cup of Nations while ensuring that domestic players continue to develop under rigorous evaluation.
