Badredine Bouanani has offered a candid assessment of his early months at VfB Stuttgart, speaking openly about his adaptation to the Bundesliga, the frustration of missing the Africa Cup of Nations and his long-term ambitions with Algeria.

The Algerian winger joined Stuttgart in the summer with clear objectives and strong motivation.

He described his first weeks in Germany as encouraging, before acknowledging a more demanding spell that tested his patience and resilience.

“I felt very happy during the first month,” Bouanani said. “I adapted quickly, had some good moments and scored my first goal for VfB Stuttgart.

After the October international break, I found things more difficult, but from mid-November everything started to improve again. The season has brought ups and downs.”

Bouanani stressed that the transition required time and discipline. He highlighted the role of head coach Sebastian Hoeneß and his staff in guiding him through the process and helping him adjust to the demands of German football.

“The coach and his staff work a lot with me,” he explained. “An adaptation phase always comes after a transfer.

I use every training session to improve and to show my qualities. I feel my form getting better, and I see the rewards of the work.”

The winger also spoke with clarity about the standards required at the top level.

He acknowledged that talent alone does not guarantee regular playing time and identified consistency as the key area he wants to strengthen.

“I want to perform at a high level more consistently,” Bouanani said. “Sometimes I deliver very strong periods, but at other times I don’t influence the game enough. I want to extend the positive moments and reduce the weaker ones.”

Defensive contribution has also become a major focus in his development. Bouanani confirmed that the coaching staff place strong emphasis on tactical discipline and work without the ball.

“Defensive work matters a lot,” he added. “The staff support me constantly, especially through video analysis.

These details help me understand where I can improve and how I can help the team more.”

Beyond club football, Bouanani did not hide his disappointment at missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations.

The absence represented a personal setback, but he views it as motivation rather than discouragement as he continues to grow.

Looking ahead, the winger remains firmly focused on long-term goals with Algeria, including the World Cup.

He approaches that ambition with patience, believing steady progress at club level will open future opportunities.

For now, Bouanani continues to concentrate on daily improvement at Stuttgart, determined to establish himself in the Bundesliga and build the consistency required to succeed at the highest level.
