Al-Wakrah Football Club has bid farewell to Algerian striker Mohamed Benyettou, marking the end of a fruitful five-year association between the player and the Qatari club.

Following the expiration of his contract, Mohamed Benyettou will part ways with Al-Wakrah at the conclusion of the current season.

Having arrived in Qatar in 2019, the former Entente de Sétif player leaves behind a legacy of dedication and stellar performances during his tenure with the Blue Wave.

Over the course of five seasons, Benyettou featured in 132 matches, netting an impressive tally of 68 goals and providing 18 assists across all competitions.

Throughout his time at Al-Wakrah, the Algerian international played a pivotal role in the resurgence of the Blue Wave, helping the club reclaim its prominence on the national stage with notable finishes in the championship.

In recognition of his contributions, the club expressed its gratitude to Benyettou via social media, posting a heartfelt message that read, “Thank you Ben Yato.”

Despite his imminent departure, Benyettou leaves Al-Wakrah with a tangible symbol of success, having secured the Sheikh Jassem Cup of Qatar earlier in the current season.

The announcement of Benyettou’s exit comes hot on the heels of another high-profile departure from Qatari football, with Baghdad Bounedjah parting ways with Al-Sadd just two days prior.

The simultaneous exits of two prominent Algerian players underscore the transitional phase currently underway in Qatari football, as clubs prepare for the next chapter in their respective journeys.

As Mohamed Benyettou bids farewell to Al-Wakrah, fans and colleagues alike reflect on his invaluable contributions to the club’s success and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

Amidst the changes and transitions, his legacy as a prolific goalscorer and a respected figure in Qatari football will endure, serving as a testament to his enduring impact on the sport.
