Anis Hadj Moussa Celebrates Feyenoord Player of the Season Award

Algerian international Anis Hadj Moussa has added another major individual honour to his collection after being voted Feyenoord Rotterdam’s Player of the Season by the club’s supporters.

The award caps a memorable campaign for the winger, who established himself as one of Feyenoord’s most influential players and finished the season with 14 goals and seven assists across all competitions.

The latest recognition comes only weeks after Hadj Moussa was named Feyenoord’s Player of the Month for May. This time, however, the distinction carries even greater significance as it reflects the appreciation of supporters over the course of an entire season.

The 23-year-old’s growing popularity was evident earlier this week during Algeria’s victory over the Netherlands at De Kuip in Rotterdam. Playing on familiar ground, Hadj Moussa once again demonstrated the qualities that have made him a fan favourite.

His stunning goal helped secure victory for Algeria and contributed to what became the Netherlands’ first home defeat since their loss to France in October 2023.

Despite the goal coming against the Dutch national team, some supporters inside the stadium applauded the Algerian winger. Many of those present had spent the season watching him shine in Feyenoord colours and did not hesitate to acknowledge his talent.

That admiration reached another level when Feyenoord officially announced on Friday that Hadj Moussa had been chosen by supporters as the club’s Player of the Year.

After an initial adaptation period during the 2024-25 campaign, the Algerian international developed into a central figure within the team. His performances earned the trust of head coach Robin van Persie, who regularly praised his abilities throughout the season.

The winger’s growing importance was also reflected in the responsibility entrusted to him, with van Persie handing him the captain’s armband on several occasions.

Hadj Moussa’s impressive displays have not gone unnoticed beyond the Netherlands. With the 2026 World Cup approaching, he is expected to be one of Algeria’s key players on the international stage.

His performances have also attracted interest from clubs abroad. Benfica and several Premier League sides are reportedly monitoring the Algerian winger as they assess potential transfer targets.

Although Hadj Moussa still has four years remaining on his current contract, speculation surrounding his future continues to increase.

Should his development continue at the same pace, the upcoming season could prove to be his final campaign in the Eredivisie before a move to another major European league.
