Yuliwes Bellache has officially signed a professional contract with French side Clermont Foot 63, extending his stay with the club until 2027.
The 22-year-old Algerian attacking midfielder, who has represented Algeria at U23 level, has taken a significant step in his career after impressing the coaching staff with a series of standout performances since returning to the club earlier this year.
Bellache, a product of Clermont’s youth academy, had initially signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2022, agreeing to a one-year deal.
However, he was immediately loaned out for development, spending the 2022/23 season with Austrian second division side Austria Lustenau, gaining valuable experience in a competitive European league.
Following his stint in Austria, the young midfielder returned to North Africa, joining JS Kabylie for the 2023/24 campaign. The move to one of Algeria’s most historic clubs provided Bellache with exposure to top-tier football in his homeland and allowed him to grow further both tactically and physically.
In January 2025, Bellache returned to Clermont without professional status and was initially integrated into the club’s National 3 (N3) squad — the reserve side competing in the fifth tier of French football.
His response was immediate and emphatic. Within just eight matches at that level, he found the back of the net five times, showcasing his creativity, composure, and attacking intelligence.
His performances soon caught the eye of the first-team technical staff. In April, Bellache was promoted to the senior squad and made his Ligue 2 debut shortly after, featuring against Pau FC.
Since breaking into the first team, the Algerian has featured in every remaining match of the league campaign and the subsequent play-off ties, accumulating seven appearances and earning one start.
Clermont Foot, impressed by Bellache’s rapid progression and consistent performances, have now tied the midfielder down to a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2027.
The club announced the deal with a statement acknowledging the player’s perseverance and growth: “Clermont Foot 63 is pleased to announce that Yuliwes Bellache has signed a professional contract until 2027.
The club congratulates him for his hard work and commitment, and looks forward to his continued development within the first-team environment.”
Bellache’s rise from academy product to a professional squad member underscores the value of patience and development through strategic loans and lower-tier competition.
His journey reflects a pathway that many young talents hope to follow — one where persistence, form, and timely opportunities combine to yield success.
As he begins this new chapter in his career, Bellache will be aiming to establish himself as a key figure in Clermont’s midfield and contribute significantly to their aspirations in Ligue 2.
With his contract now secured, the Algerian playmaker will look to build on his momentum and cement his place in the club’s long-term plans.
