Algerian midfielder Ramiz Zerrouki attracts interest from UAE side Al-Sharjah
Algerian international Ramiz Zerrouki could be set for a new chapter in his career, with UAE club Al-Sharjah showing interest in signing the midfielder during the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old’s future has become a subject of growing speculation after reports emerged that discussions have already taken place regarding a possible move away from Feyenoord.
According to Dutch outlet FR12.nl, Al-Sharjah are closely monitoring Zerrouki’s situation and have begun exploring the conditions required to complete a transfer. While no official offer has yet been submitted to Feyenoord, the Emirati club’s interest is understood to be serious.
The development comes as Zerrouki returns from a loan spell at FC Twente, where he spent the previous season.
Although the Algerian midfielder remains under contract with Feyenoord until June 2027, his long-term future in Rotterdam appears increasingly uncertain.
Recent comments from the player have also fuelled speculation, with indications that a return to a prominent role at Feyenoord may not form part of his plans moving forward.
Zerrouki experienced mixed fortunes during his time at De Kuip, struggling at times to establish himself consistently.
However, his loan spell at Twente allowed him to regain confidence and rediscover the form that initially made him one of the most highly regarded midfielders in Dutch football.
Despite that improvement, a permanent return to FC Twente is reportedly considered difficult because of financial limitations.
As a result, Al-Sharjah’s interest could provide a solution that benefits all parties involved.
For the UAE club, Zerrouki would bring international experience and proven quality in midfield. For the player, the move would offer a fresh challenge after several years in Dutch football.
Meanwhile, Feyenoord could receive a significant transfer fee if negotiations advance.
The Algerian international’s market value is currently estimated at around €6.5 million, and his involvement with Algeria at the 2026 FIFA World Cup could further increase his profile in the transfer market.
With the summer window approaching and interest continuing to grow, attention is likely to remain focused on Zerrouki’s next move.
For now, discussions remain at an early stage, but the possibility of the Algerian midfielder leaving Feyenoord appears increasingly realistic as Al-Sharjah assess whether to formalise their interest with an official offer in the coming weeks.
