Algerian left-back Fouad Saleh joins Al-Markhiya SC on free transfer

Algerian left-back Fouad Saleh has joined Al-Markhiya SC from Muaither SC on a free transfer, completing a move within Qatar Stars League 2.

Saleh, 22, made the switch on 7 September 2026 and has agreed a contract with Al-Markhiya running until 30 June 2027. The defender prefers his left foot and moves to a club competing in the same division as his former side.

The transfer follows Saleh’s appearance for Muaither at the start of the 2026-27 Qatar Stars League 2 campaign. He played once, featuring for 21 minutes, and had not scored or provided an assist before moving to Al-Markhiya.

Saleh joined Muaither from Paradou U21 on 31 January 2023, during the season in which the club won the Qatari Second Division title. He had previously been with Belouizdad U21 before moving to Paradou in August 2022.

The defender’s current market value is listed at €275,000, although Al-Markhiya have secured his services without a transfer fee. His arrival gives the club an Algerian option at left-back as they continue their Qatar Stars League 2 campaign.

Saleh’s move marks the latest stage of a career that has so far been spent in Qatar’s second-tier competition after beginning in Algeria’s under-21 football. He now continues with Al-Markhiya under a deal that runs through the end of June 2027.
