Algerian international Amine Chiakha has been included in FC Copenhagen’s squad for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie against Kosovan side Drita, held Tuesday evening at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.

Chiakha’s selection by head coach Jacob Neestrup comes after he was left out of the Danish Superliga opener against Viborg, a decision the club attributed solely to tactical considerations.

His inclusion for this crucial European fixture signals renewed trust from the coaching staff and provides the young striker with a pivotal moment to re-establish himself in the squad.

After a challenging season marred by injuries and intense internal competition, the 22-year-old forward now finds himself presented with a fresh opportunity to prove his worth on the continental stage.

The Champions League qualifiers offer a platform not only for his club ambitions but also to boost his chances of cementing a more regular role with the Algerian national team.

The return leg is scheduled to take place on July 29 in Pristina, with Copenhagen aiming to take a decisive step toward the group stage.

The Danish champions are expected to rely on their depth and experience to navigate the early rounds of the competition, and Chiakha’s presence adds an extra dimension to their attacking options.

His recall to the squad could be seen as a turning point.

While last season offered limited playing time due to recurring fitness setbacks, Chiakha’s determination to regain top form and compete at the highest level remains intact.

This latest selection represents both a reward for his perseverance and a challenge to step up in a pressure-filled environment.

The forward’s potential has never been in question, and now, with the spotlight of European competition shining once again, Chiakha will be eager to leave his mark.

For a player still at the start of his international and club journey, these early Champions League rounds may prove crucial in shaping his path forward.

With FC Copenhagen eyeing another deep run in Europe, Amine Chiakha’s reintegration into the squad could be timely—not just for his club’s ambitions, but for his own resurgence on both domestic and international fronts.
