Speaking to reporters at Algiers’ Houari Boumediene Airport on Monday, Benzia expressed the team’s shared grief while honoring Makhloufi’s contributions to Algerian football and identity.
“We are very saddened by this news, but such is life,” he remarked.
The player for Azerbaijan’s Qarabag FK underscored the influence Makhloufi had on generations of Algerian players and his status as a role model who embodied resilience, skill, and patriotism.
“He has left a tremendous legacy, and we, along with the generations to come, will strive to lift Algeria to great heights,” Benzia added, highlighting the team’s commitment to preserving Makhloufi’s impact by achieving success on the field.
