The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is hosting a three-day forum in the capital under the theme “Safe Stadiums in Africa,” aimed at enhancing safety and security in the organization of sporting events.
The event, organized in coordination with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), concludes on Thursday.
According to an official statement from the FAF, the symposium seeks to strengthen best practices in ensuring safety during matches and features both theoretical and practical sessions.
The forum is facilitated by CAF experts Maman Edi Al-Mustapha from Niger and Ababacar Seni from Senegal, alongside key stakeholders involved in the organization and security of sporting events.
“This initiative underscores the commitment to improving the standards of organizing sporting events in secure conditions, adhering to international norms,” the FAF noted.
The forum also provides an opportunity for participants to exchange expertise and enhance the capabilities of national staff responsible for match organization and safety.
In his opening remarks, FAF Secretary-General Nadhir Bouznad welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the workshop’s importance in aligning Algeria’s sports security protocols with international best practices.
“The primary goal of this initiative is to provide a safe and respectful environment for fans, players, and officials,” Bouznad stated.
The agenda of the inaugural day included discussions on pressing challenges related to security in African football and a detailed review of CAF regulations regarding match safety.
The forum also examined the roles of security officers within CAF, collaboration with club security officials, and the protection of players, officials, and stadium staff.
Topics such as accreditation and access control systems were also addressed.
This effort forms part of Algeria’s broader strategy to modernize sports infrastructure and ensure top-tier security standards, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all stakeholders in the sporting world.
