Algerian Football: ASO Chlef Still Believes in Staying Up

ASO Chlef Revives Hopes of Staying in Algeria’s Ligue 1 After Crucial Win

ASO Chlef has breathed new life into its fight for survival in Algeria’s Ligue 1, following a crucial 3-0 victory over MCO. The win has rekindled the team’s hopes of remaining in the top flight for next season, with coach Mohamed Benchouia expressing confidence in his players’ ability to turn their season around.

“We beat MCO in style,” said Benchouia, reflecting on the performance. “My players wanted to win this match in order to hopefully get out of the relegation zone. I think we can now believe in our chances by approaching the remaining matches with the same determination and commitment.”

The victory against MCO has lifted ASO Chlef’s spirits, but the battle for survival remains tough. Benchouia acknowledges the challenges ahead but remains optimistic. “Staying in Ligue 1? We still believe in it. We’ve won three very important points that put us back in the race for survival, which is becoming increasingly possible,” he stated. “Staying up will be difficult for all the teams at the bottom of the table, and we’re increasingly confident in it.”

ASO Chlef’s relegation battle is far from over, as the competition at the bottom of the standings intensifies. “I don’t think any team has already secured its survival. The other teams, including ours, have equal chances,” Benchouia added.

Looking ahead, the coach pointed to a pivotal match against CSC in Constantine as a must-win to keep their survival hopes alive. “A six-point match awaits us in Constantine against CSC, which we’ll absolutely have to negotiate well to stay in the race for survival.”

The win against MCO has given ASO Chlef the momentum they need as they prepare for the final stretch of the season, with every point crucial in their battle to stay in Ligue 1.
