The Algerian Football Federation has launched an investigation following violent clashes at Ouargla Stadium that forced the cancellation of the 21st-round fixture between Al-Ruwaisat and Al-Harrach in the Central East Group of the amateur league.
In an official statement, the federation condemned the chaos that erupted at the February 18 Stadium, emphasizing that such incidents tarnish the image of Algerian football.
“We strongly condemn the violence that took place today, Thursday, at the February 18 stadium, Bourqla, which led to the cancellation of the future match of Al -Ruwaisat and Al -Harrash Federation for the 21st round of the National Football Championship,” the statement read.
The federation stressed the urgency of addressing this issue, particularly as it occurred on the eve of Ramadan, and vowed to take firm action against those responsible.
“We call on all parties involved in national football, from clubs, fans, and the media, to unify efforts to eliminate all forms of violence in our stadiums and preserve the spirit of sport,” the statement added.
