Egyptian side Al-Masry, led by Tunisian coach Nabil El Kouki, is moving swiftly to add firepower to its squad by targeting two Algerian stars for the upcoming season.
The club is in talks with 29-year-old left-back Youcef Laouafi, formerly of CR Belouizdad, who is now a free agent after his contract ended. Youcef Laouafi has featured for clubs such as ES Sétif, ASO Chlef, and Étoile du Sahel, and previously worked under coach El Kouki at Sétif and Belouizdad.
Another name high on Al-Masry’s list is 23-year-old forward Monzer Tamin from CS Constantine. Tamin impressed last season with five goals in the Algerian league and is seen as a strong addition to the club’s attack.
While talks for the new signings continue, Al-Masry officials are also racing to secure a contract renewal with current Algerian midfielder Abdelraouf Daghoum. His deal has expired, but with coach El Kouki’s blessing, the club is making a final push to keep him at the heart of their midfield plans.
