Algerian international Ramy Bensebaïni is reportedly a target for Turkish club Galatasaray during the ongoing winter transfer window, which remains open until 6 February.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, the Borussia Dortmund defender is among Galatasaray’s top priorities as the Istanbul club looks to strengthen its backline.
Talks between the two clubs are said to be at an advanced stage, with initial official contact already made. The transfer could progress quickly if financial terms are agreed upon.
Bensebaïni, under contract with Dortmund until 2027, has seen his role reduced under new coach Niko Kovač. Once considered a key part of the defensive rotation, the former Borussia Mönchengladbach player has been sidelined in favour of a trio consisting of Emre Can, Waldemar Anton, and Nico Schlotterbeck.
His reduced playing time has drawn attention from other clubs. Galatasaray is reportedly seeking an experienced and versatile defender, and Bensebaïni fits that profile.
Dortmund, for its part, may be open to a transfer if an acceptable offer is made. His current market value is estimated at €7 million by Transfermarkt.
For the 30-year-old, the potential move represents an opportunity to regain regular playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup. A switch to Galatasaray could provide both sporting and personal benefits, allowing him to return to first-team football in a competitive league.
As the winter transfer window continues, Bensebaïni’s next move remains a topic of interest for both fans and analysts.
If completed, the transfer would mark another high-profile addition for Galatasaray, while offering the Algerian defender a chance to re-establish himself on the European and international stage.
