The Mouloudia Club of Algiers clinched the 50th Algerian Cup title in a thrilling encounter against JSK, triumphing in a penalty shootout. This marks the 7th trophy secured by Bouali’s talented team.
Taking an early lead in the 4th minute through an own goal by Rial, MCA seemed to have control. However, their advantage was short-lived as JSK equalized with a penalty converted by none other than Rial himself in the 89th minute, the same player who inadvertently scored the own goal earlier. Despite the setback, MCA ultimately emerged victorious, prevailing 4-3 in the penalty shootout.
Reflecting on the challenging match, the triumphant coach expressed, “It was a very difficult match, as we expected. It was not a surprise. I believe we showed great presence and solidity throughout. Even after JSK equalized, I urged my players to remain composed and continue playing their game. During the penalty shootout, we maintained our composure.” The coach’s emotional reaction, shedding tears of joy in the locker room, underscored the significance of the victory.
