The countdown is on for the much-anticipated Algerian Cup final between MC Alger and CR Belouizdad, scheduled to take place in four days. This unprecedented showdown sees both teams vying for their ninth title in this prestigious competition, a feat that would set a new record.

In the MC Alger camp, attention is focused on playmaker Youcef Belaili, who sustained a shoulder injury during the last championship match against MC Oran.

Despite this setback, Belaili has resumed training with great enthusiasm, reassuring fans and teammates alike.

MC Alger supporters are hopeful that Belaili can lead the team to a historic double victory, having already secured the Algerian championship title this season after a 14-year drought.

Belaili’s impact on the team has been immense, contributing to 31 goals this season with 16 goals and 15 assists.

His injury on June 14 initially caused significant concern among fans and the club’s medical staff.

However, after intensive treatment, Belaili has been cleared to play in the final.

Nevertheless, doubts linger regarding his physical condition, particularly given the recurring nature of his shoulder injury, which has plagued him throughout his career, including stints at Espérance de Tunis, Al-Ahli SC in Saudi Arabia, and the national team.

Despite the medical clearance, the sight of Belaili training with a bandage on his left shoulder has done little to allay fans’ fears.

The Mouloudia faithful worry that this chronic injury might hamper his performance in the crucial final match.

Belaili, however, remains calm and confident, assuring everyone that he will be ready to help his team secure a second title this season.

Belaili’s impressive return to the Algerian championship has not gone unnoticed, attracting interest from several foreign clubs.

This has sparked concern among MC Alger supporters who fear losing their star player to lucrative offers abroad.

Espérance de Tunis has expressed a strong desire to bring Belaili back, hoping to include him in their squad for the Club World Cup.

Additionally, Al-Ain FC, the Asian champions from the United Arab Emirates, are reportedly keen on signing the Algerian star, aiming to bolster their squad for the upcoming global event, which will feature 32 clubs for the first time.

Despite the growing interest from foreign clubs, MC Alger’s president, Hadj-Redjem, is determined to retain Belaili.

He aims to strengthen the team to compete with Africa’s elite, such as Al-Ahly, Espérance de Tunis, and Mamelodi Sundowns.

As the final approaches, all eyes will be on Youcef Belaili to see if he can overcome his injury and lead MC Alger to victory.

His performance will not only be crucial for the club’s immediate success but also for his future, as top teams continue to monitor his progress.

The Algerian Cup final promises to be a thrilling encounter, with the potential to secure Belaili’s legacy at MC Alger and possibly attract more suitors from around the globe.
