Algeria’s Women’s AFCON 2026 schedule confirmed ahead of Morocco tournament
Algeria will begin its 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign against Senegal after the full fixture schedule for the tournament was confirmed.
The 14th edition of the competition will take place in Morocco from 26 July to 16 August, with Algeria drawn in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Senegal and Kenya.
The tournament will feature 16 teams for the first time in its history, creating an expanded format for the continental competition.
Algeria’s group-stage matches will all be played in Rabat, where the Fennecs will face a challenging set of opponents.
Algeria’s opening match will come against Senegal on Sunday, 26 July, at the Rabat Olympic Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 18:00.
The Fennecs will then face tournament hosts Morocco on Thursday, 30 July, in what will be one of the most anticipated matches of the group stage.
The fixture will take place at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00.
Algeria will complete their group-stage schedule against Kenya on Monday, 3 August. That match will also be held at the Rabat Olympic Stadium and will begin at 21:00.
The draw places Algeria in a group featuring three teams with ambitions of progressing in the expanded tournament.
With the competition increasing from its previous format, every group match will carry added importance as teams compete for places in the knockout stages.
The Algerian side will now continue preparations with a clear understanding of the challenge ahead.
Their campaign will begin against Senegal before meetings with hosts Morocco and Kenya determine their progress in Group A.
The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations represents another opportunity for Algeria to compete among the continent’s leading women’s teams, with the tournament scheduled to conclude on 16 August in Morocco.
