Algeria winger Billal Brahimi arrives in Brazil to seal to Santos move
Algeria international Billal Brahimi has touched down in Brazil as he edges closer to completing a move to powerhouse, Santos this window.
The winger arrived in Sao Paulo on Tuesday and will undergo his Santos medical on Wednesday before putting pen to paper.
The 25-year-old is joining the Brazilian heavyweight as a free agent following his departure from French Ligue 1 OGC Nice after mutual contract termination on transfer deadline day.
Having sever ties with the French club, Brahimi has swiftly found himself a club and is expected to seal a move to Santos.
Brahimi joined Nice back in 2022, but struggled to establish himself under several different managers. However, he was forced out on loan on two occasions to Stade Brestois and Saint-Trond respectively.
Before terminating contract with Nice, the Algerian made one appearance in the French Ligue 1, coming on for the final stages of the club’s 1-0 defeat to Toulouse FC on the first weekend of Ligue 1 football.
However, on deadline day, and in the final week of the transfer window, Nice added to their front line, leading to Brahimi’s departure.
Since making his debut for Algeria in 2022, the winger has made just four appearances for the national team without scoring or assisting a goal.
