After weeks of reflection, three Algerian football clubs have decided to participate in the CAF interclub competitions. ES Sétif and USM El Harrach, the reigning champion and runner-up, confirmed their participation in the 2014 Orange Champions League. CS Constantine, the third-placed team last season, confirmed its participation in the Orange Confederation Cup. However, USM Alger, the winner of the Algerian Cup, opted not to participate in these competitions. The decision was influenced by considerations such as scheduling, costs, and logistical challenges. This comes after the president of the Algerian Football Federation had initially proposed the idea of clubs skipping these competitions in 2014.
