Islam Slimani, the Algerian striker playing for CR Belouizdad, has revealed in an interview with lebuteur.com that he has been in contact with several European clubs. Slimani, who scored one of the three goals for Algeria against Benin in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, is currently in excellent form. However, he expressed his intention to focus on finishing the season with his current club before making any decisions regarding his future.
Slimani stated, “Honestly, that speaks a lot. I have a few touches in Europe and elsewhere, but for now, I can’t reveal anything. I am not in a hurry. I try to stay focused on my club to finish the season well. We will talk about it at the end of the exercise Insha Allah.”
Like many African players, Slimani expressed a preference for playing in a European league. He mentioned having interest from clubs in France and Portugal, but he emphasized that he would not disclose any details until the end of the season. Slimani has one year left on his contract with CR Belouizdad and is keeping his options open as he evaluates potential moves to European championships.
