ES SÉTIF: MADOUI TENDERS RESIGNATION DESPITE WIN — CLUB PRESIDENT REJECTS IT
Kheireddine Madoui has announced his resignation as head coach of ES Sétif, despite securing the team’s first win of the Algerian Ligue 1 season against CS Constantine. The decision comes amid rising tensions between the coach, certain club officials, and a section of the supporters.
According to local reports, Madoui was targeted with insults that he found unacceptable. The situation escalated further following a heated altercation with veteran striker Abdelmalek Ziaya, deepening the internal discord.
Although Madoui had survived earlier criticism after ES Sétif’s elimination from the CAF Champions League, thanks to the support of the club’s president, this time the coach chose to step down voluntarily. However, his resignation has not yet been accepted by the club leadership.
The president, determined to retain Madoui, is attempting to calm the situation and prevent further instability at the club. But with tensions high and Madoui seemingly resolute in his decision, the future of the coach at ES Sétif remains uncertain.
