ALGERIA: PRISON FOR PERPETRATORS OF VIOLENCE IN SPORT!

Algeria is taking a firm stance against violence in sports with the introduction of a new sports law that carries severe sanctions for offenders. The government, represented by Minister of Youth and Sports Mohamed Tahmi, emphasized that the law, set to be promulgated in two months, will target individuals involved in violence, including those making statements that incite disorder.

The legislation underscores the commitment to preventing and combating violence in sports, covering a range of offenses. Sanctions outlined in the new law include imprisonment for those found guilty of inciting or participating in violent incidents related to sporting events.

Minister Tahmi called on sports club leaders to contribute to the ongoing efforts to promote professionalism in various sports disciplines. Additionally, discussions are in progress to consider increasing the budget allocated to sports in the national budget. This comprehensive approach aims to create a safer and more positive environment in Algerian sports, discouraging violence and promoting fair play.
