Nabil Fékir Caught Between France and Algeria – Feghouli Offers Support
Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Nabil Fékir continues to weigh his international future as he remains torn between representing France’s U21s or switching allegiance to Algeria, the country of his roots. While the Algerian Football Federation is keen on securing the talented playmaker, Fékir has yet to make a final decision.
Algerian star Sofiane Feghouli, currently playing for Valencia, expressed understanding and support for Fékir’s dilemma:
“He has to listen to his heart. It’s up to him to decide,” Feghouli told L’Équipe.
“If he comes, he will be welcomed as our little brother. He will bring competition and quality. And if he decides to join the French team, we will wish him the best and we will be behind him.”
The situation remains open, but Fékir’s final choice could significantly impact both national teams.
