It appears that Nabil Ghilas, the 22-year-old Algerian striker, has expressed his willingness to play for the Algerian national team. He has made himself available for the upcoming match against Benin scheduled for March 26 in Blida, Algeria.
In an interview with the sports magazine France Football, Ghilas stated, “If the national coach (Vahid Halilhodzic) would call on me, I would come without hesitation. This is my country, and I will be happy to wear its colors. This idea is obviously in my head.”
Ghilas also shared his thoughts on Algeria’s performance in the last African Cup of Nations, expressing disappointment with the results. He specifically mentioned the impact of the defeat against Tunisia and the challenging match against Togo. Despite the setbacks, Ghilas highlighted the unluckiness of the team, emphasizing the positive aspects of Islam Slimani’s performance during the competition.
It will be interesting to see if Ghilas gets the call-up and contributes to the Algerian national team in the upcoming match against Benin.
