Algeria: MC Algiers dismisses Enzo Crivelli transfer rumours amid focus on other targets

MC Algiers has firmly denied reports suggesting an interest in signing French striker Enzo Crivelli, clarifying that no negotiations have taken place and that the player is not under consideration for recruitment.

Despite speculation from French outlet Foot Mercato, which linked the 30-year-old forward to the Algerian club, sources close to the Doyen insist that Crivelli is not part of their transfer strategy.

As the summer transfer window intensifies, MC Algiers remains proactive in strengthening its squad, particularly with a focus on upcoming African competitions.

However, La Gazette du Fennec has confirmed that no contact has been established between the club’s hierarchy and Crivelli, who is currently a free agent following stints with Bordeaux, Angers, and Istanbul Basaksehir.

Despite Crivelli’s extensive professional experience—accumulating 390 appearances, 75 goals, and 24 assists—the club’s recruitment department has not placed him on any of their active shortlists.

MCA’s sporting directors are indeed in search of a new striker but are concentrating their efforts on two alternative profiles, neither of which involve the French forward.

While the Crivelli rumours have been firmly put to rest, MC Algiers is making significant progress on another front.

Talks with Algerian international goalkeeper Alexis Guendouz appear to be reaching an advanced stage.

Guendouz, who previously played for CR Belouizdad, has reportedly presented documentation to MCA’s management proving he has personally paid €400,000 to terminate his contract with Iranian giants Persepolis.

Negotiations over salary terms have been amicable, with Guendouz agreeing to MCA’s financial proposal.

The player is said to be enthusiastic about joining the club, viewing the project as an ambitious and competitive challenge that aligns with his personal career goals.

The situation now hinges on Mouloudia’s final decision to formalize the deal, with Guendouz poised to become a key addition to their goalkeeping department.

Meanwhile, CR Belouizdad has not entirely withdrawn from the contest, leaving a slim possibility of a late twist.

Nevertheless, MC Algiers is optimistic about securing the services of the talented shot-stopper in the coming days.

For now, while the pursuit of a striker continues, MC Algiers has made it clear that Enzo Crivelli will not be wearing the club’s colours, as attention shifts towards reinforcing other strategic areas of the squad.
