**MC Alger Bounce Back with Win Over ASM Oran**
*August 2025* — MC Alger ended a winless run as they secured a 2-0 victory against ASM Oran on Matchday 5 of the Algerian championship.
The Algerian side, eager for a positive result after struggling since Matchday 2, were propelled by Kheireddine Merzougui, last season’s Ligue 2 top scorer. Merzougui netted twice, first in the 30th minute and again in the 69th, to seal the win.
With this victory, MC Alger climb provisionally to 5th place in the standings, just two points behind league leaders USM El Harrach.
