Jean-Guy Wallemme Appointed Head Coach of ASO Chlef
Relegated to Ligue 2, ASO Chlef is determined to return to Algeria’s top flight as quickly as possible. To achieve this, the club has appointed Jean-Guy Wallemme as head coach for the upcoming season.
The Frenchman, who was dismissed from JS Kabylie last April, has now committed to another challenge in Algerian football by signing a one-year contract with Chlef. His mission is clear: guide ASO Chlef back to Ligue 1.
This marks Wallemme’s third stint in Algeria since 2014, having previously managed USM Bel-Abbès and JS Kabylie. The former RC Lens manager was recently linked with a move to Grenoble in the French CFA (4th tier), but he ultimately opted to remain in Algeria.
With promotion as the clear objective, Wallemme will now lead ASO Chlef into a crucial campaign in Ligue 2.
