Although still in his first term as president of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), Kheïreddine Zetchi has announced that he does not plan to remain at the helm indefinitely. Speaking on the program Studio El-Kora, Zetchi outlined his intentions to step down after completing his current mandate.
“What happened to me after our return from Egypt is now in the past. As president of the FAF, I am continuing my work. The interests of Algerian football are what matter most to us,” Zetchi explained. He emphasized his commitment to finishing his current term, adding, “I have one year left in my term, which I will of course complete. After that, I intend to finish my term and step down to make way for others. As I speak to you now, even though I don’t know what fate may hold, I intend to finish my term at the head of the FAF and leave.”
Zetchi’s statement reflects a clear vision for a transition in leadership while maintaining stability and prioritizing the development of Algerian football.
