Algeria defender Adem Alilet joins Esperance on free transfer

Algeria centre-back Adem Alilet has joined Tunisian club Esperance on a free transfer from Al-Ittihad, strengthening the Ligue 1 side’s defensive options with a player who has won African and domestic honours.

The 27-year-old has signed a contract with Esperance until 30 June 2028. Alilet is a right-footed defender who stands 1.85m tall and has made the move after a spell in the Libyan Premier League. His arrival was completed on 19 September 2026.

Alilet joined Al-Ittihad from Algerian club USM Alger in February 2026, with the transfer fee recorded at €450,000. He had spent the previous part of his senior career with USM Alger after moving up from the club’s under-21 team in July 2019.

During his time with USM Alger, Alilet was part of sides that won the CAF Confederation Cup in 2022-23 and 2025-26, as well as the Algerian Cup in 2024-25 and 2025-26. He also helped the club claim the CAF Super Cup in 2023-24.
