Christian Gourcuff recently concluded his 25-year association with Lorient, leaving the club after the end of the Ligue 1 season. The seasoned coach is now rumored to be taking over as the head coach of the Algerian national team.
When questioned by BelN Sports about his potential contract with the Fennecs, Gourcuff was non-committal but provided some insights into his decision-making process.
“After a few mentally challenging months, I plan to take some time off to rest,” he said. “I’m looking for a project that truly excites me, something I can be fully committed to. The passion and the connection I feel with people involved will be crucial in my decision.”
In a concluding remark, Gourcuff hinted that the opportunity he is considering is likely to be international in nature, suggesting that it would be outside of France.
