Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez has shared his excitement after marking over 10 appearances for the national team.
Mahrez, who currently plies his trade for Saudi Arabia side Al Ahli was in action on Tuesday night when Algeria thumped Mozambique to take a three points lead in the World Cup qualifiers.
The former African champions cruised to an emphatic 5-1 win over Mozambique in the sixth round of the qualifying campaign at the Stade Hocine Aït Ahmed, solidifing their chances of securing a spot for the mundial.
The former Manchester City star has now marked over 100 appearances for the national team.
And speaking after the Mozambique clash, Mahrez said, “I am very happy with what I have achieved so far with the national team. This is a source of pride for me, my family, and my late father. I will never forget my first moments here, and now I have surpassed the 100-match mark with the national team”
Since making his debut for Algeria in May 2014, the enterprising winger has marked over 100 appearances, scoring 31 goals across the period.
