Alexis Guendouz: JS Kabylie sign Algeria and France goalkeeper from MC Algiers

French-Algerian goalkeeper Alexis Guendouz has joined JS Kabylie from MC Algiers, completing a move between two Ligue 1 clubs.

The 30-year-old, who stands 1.91m tall and prefers his left foot, switches to JS Kabylie after helping MC Algiers win the Algerian championship and Algerian Super Cup during the 2025-26 season. His arrival gives the club an experienced option in goal as they prepare for the new campaign.

Guendouz spent the previous season with MC Algiers, where he added two major domestic honours to his career record. The Algerian title was his second, following his success with CR Belouizdad in 2022-23, while the Super Cup triumph was his first.

The goalkeeper also won the Algerian Cup with CR Belouizdad in 2023-24, giving him four recorded domestic honours across the past four seasons. His latest move keeps him in Algeria’s top flight and marks a change of club after a trophy-winning campaign with MC Algiers.

Born in Saint-Etienne on 26 January 1996, Guendouz has both Algerian and French nationality. He joins JS Kabylie with his market value listed at €700,000, although no transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.

MC Algiers and JS Kabylie both compete in Ligue 1, meaning Guendouz will remain in the same division while taking up a new challenge with his new club. His experience of winning the league with two different teams, as well as the Algerian Cup and Super Cup, forms the main background to the move.

Guendouz’s switch to JS Kabylie was completed on 10 August 2026.
