Alexandria Union Club has entered a critical phase following the confirmed resignation of club president Mohamed Moselhi.
With the 15-day withdrawal window expired, the club’s board convened for an emergency meeting to decide the next steps in the wake of Moselhi’s departure, as stated in accordance with Article 68 of club regulations.
A statement from the club confirmed the resignation as final, with Moselhi absent throughout the grace period. According to Kooora, the Board of Directors is now weighing key regulatory moves to steer the club through this leadership vacuum.
A source inside the club said the board has no intention of resigning collectively, with the general assembly already scheduled for November. This stance reflects the board’s plan to maintain stability while navigating the leadership transition.
As part of its restructuring efforts, the council appointed Mohammed Omar as Chairman of the Planning Committee. Omar will lead the search for new technical staff following the resignation of coach Magdi Abdel Ati, signaling the club’s swift pivot towards rebuilding.
