Alexander Jakobsen linked with Thanh Hoa switch in Vietnam
Egyptian-Danish winger Alexander Jakobsen, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Thanh Hoa FC in Vietnam’s V.League 1.
Jakobsen, 32, plays on the left wing and has been unattached since leaving RKC Waalwijk on 1 July 2025. The proposed move would take him to Vietnam after a career that has included spells in the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Egypt.
He joined RKC from Kazakhstan side Zhenis in August 2024, having previously spent part of the 2023-24 season with Georgian champions Dinamo Batumi. Jakobsen helped Dinamo Batumi win the Georgian title in the 2022-23 campaign.
His most extensive recent league record came in Sweden’s Allsvenskan, where he made 79 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists. He also made 20 Premier League appearances earlier in his career, scoring once.
Jakobsen began his youth career with Lyngby BK and FC Copenhagen before joining PSV’s academy. He represented Egypt at under-20 level and was part of the Egypt side that won the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in 2013.
The reported interest from Thanh Hoa comes while Jakobsen remains unattached, with no transfer fee or contract details established.
