Alexander Isak is back in England and preparing for the new season with Newcastle United, returning to Tyneside after a solo training stint in Spain.
The Swedish striker had been keeping fit at Zubieta, the training base of his old club Real Sociedad. Now, with the bulk of Newcastle’s first-team squad still away on pre-season tour in Asia, Isak is expected to resume training at the club’s home base.
His return comes on the heels of a major transfer twist. Newcastle turned down a £110 million offer from Liverpool, who have long admired the 25-year-old forward. While Isak is believed to be open to a move this summer, the Magpies remain firm on keeping one of their most prized assets.
Liverpool, after seeing their offer swiftly rejected, are not currently planning a follow-up bid. Still, their interest remains alive, leaving room for further developments before the window shuts.
For now, Isak is back in black and white, preparing for what could be a defining season in his Premier League journey.
