Isak back in Liverpool training after injury layoff

Alexander Isak is finally ready to rejoin full training with Liverpool on Thursday, April 2, marking a major step in his comeback from a serious ankle injury suffered in December against Tottenham Hotspur.

The forward fractured his fibula while scoring in that game and has spent the last three to four months working his way back after surgery.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Arne Slot shared his delight at seeing the striker so close to a return. “I think Alex is in a really good place because Sweden qualified for the World Cup yesterday evening and apart from that he’s going to train with the group again for the first time tomorrow,” he said. Slot stressed how rewarding it is for a player to rejoin teammates after such a long and demanding rehab period.

The Liverpool boss also highlighted what Isak’s presence can mean for the run-in. He described the Swede as “an incredible striker” and believes having him available for the final two months, even if not ready to start immediately, will be a huge boost for a side that regularly creates plenty of chances.
