Alex Song Emerges as Manchester United’s Backup Target Amid Vidal Pursuit
Manchester United may turn to Alex Song as an alternative option in their midfield transfer plans, according to reports from the Daily Express. The Cameroonian midfielder, currently at FC Barcelona, could make a return to the Premier League after being sidelined by new Barcelona coach Luis Enrique.
United are reportedly eager to sign Juventus star Arturo Vidal, but the Italian club is expected to refuse any offer, prompting the Red Devils to consider Song as their Plan B. Song, who left the Premier League in 2012 after a successful spell with Arsenal, is no longer in Luis Enrique’s plans at Barcelona and has been advised to find a new club.
A return to England could offer Song the chance to revive his career at a top level, while providing Manchester United with valuable midfield reinforcement should their pursuit of Vidal fail.
