Alex Mermoz: Cameroon winger linked with Sisaket Utd move

Cameroonian left winger Alex Mermoz, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Thai side Sisaket Utd. as the League 2 outfit look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign. The 22-year-old, a left-footed attacker, has emerged as a target after leaving Nongbua FC this summer and becoming a free agent.

Mermoz’s availability and recent form in Thai football are understood to have attracted interest from Sisaket Utd, with the club exploring a potential deal that would not involve a transfer fee. He is currently valued at around €200,000, a figure that reflects his rise over the past two seasons in Thailand.

The winger’s most substantial recent contribution came in Thai League 2, where he made 32 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists, underlining his ability to contribute consistently from wide areas. He also featured in postseason play, adding an assist in three Thai League 2 playoff matches as his side pushed for promotion.

Mermoz has built his career in Thailand after moving from Cameroonian side Fovu de Baham, representing Samut Sakhon City and Navy FC before stepping up the pyramid with Lopburi City, Chiangmai United and most recently Nongbua FC. His steady progression through the Thai system has made him a known quantity to clubs at this level.

For now, Mermoz remains unattached after his departure from Nongbua FC on 5 July 2026, leaving him free to negotiate directly with interested clubs as discussions over a switch to Sisaket Utd continue.
