Alex Masogo joins Tanjong Pagar: Equatorial Guinea-Spanish midfielder signs for Singapore Premier League club

Equatorial Guinea-Spanish midfielder Alex Masogo has joined Tanjong Pagar as a free agent, signing for the Singapore Premier League club until 30 June 2027.

The 25-year-old central midfielder completed the move on 14 September after leaving Beroe earlier in 2026. He has been given the number 18 shirt and becomes part of Tanjong Pagar’s squad for the 2026-27 Singapore Premier League campaign.

Masogo has already made one appearance for his new club this season, starting and completing the full 90 minutes. He was shown one yellow card in that match but did not score.

Born in Madrid, Masogo holds Equatorial Guinea and Spanish nationality. He is 1.83m tall and prefers his right foot.

His most recent previous club was Bulgarian side Beroe, whom he joined from Spanish club Yeclano in July 2025. That move was also completed without a transfer fee, before Masogo departed Beroe in February 2026.

Masogo has spent much of his career in Spain, including spells with CD Leganes, UD Melilla, Pontevedra CF, San Fernando CD and CD Mirandes B. He joined Leganes from Inter de Madrid in August 2022 and subsequently spent time on loan with Pontevedra and UD Melilla.

His career has also included an early pathway through Madrid-based youth football. He joined Getafe Under-19s from Atletico Madrid Under-17s in 2018 before moving into senior football with CD Mirandes B in 2020.

The midfielder’s senior record includes one Premier League appearance, in which he played 90 minutes. His arrival at Tanjong Pagar gives the club a player with experience across Spanish and Bulgarian football, while his current campaign has begun with a starting role in Singapore.

Masogo’s contract with Tanjong Pagar runs through the end of June 2027, and his move to the Singapore Premier League was completed on 14 September 2026.
