Alex Iwobi sidelined for Fulham’s must-win Bournemouth fixture
Fulham will be without Alex Iwobi for their Premier League meeting with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, with manager Marco Silva confirming the Nigeria international has not recovered from a hamstring injury.
Iwobi has already missed the club’s last three league fixtures and remains sidelined as Fulham continue their push for European qualification in the closing stages of the season.
Silva admitted the midfielder is still not ready for selection, while also indicating that Ryan Sessegnon will join him on the absentee list for the Craven Cottage clash.
“Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi, they are going to be out of the game,”he confirmed.
The Fulham boss explained it has been a challenging week in terms of player fitness, stressing the need for daily assessments as the squad deals with multiple knocks and illnesses.
“We had a difficult week with one or two. We have to keep assessing every single day.
Silva also provided an update on Sander, noting that illness has disrupted his recent availability after an earlier setback that affected his recovery process across multiple matches.
“Sander is through the illness, but he’s been the one that is suffering a little bit more. He felt something in the week of Brentford, was one of the reasons why he was not recovered for Villa, and last week he had probably a bigger one, and it’s had an impact on him.”
