Fulham will be without Alex Iwobi when they travel to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, a significant setback for Marco Silva’s side as they prepare for a demanding Premier League encounter.

The Nigeria international, who has been a key figure in Fulham’s midfield this season, is set to miss the reunion with his former club after failing to recover from a hamstring injury.

Iwobi picked up the problem during Fulham’s goalless draw with Brentford two weeks ago, a match in which he was forced to withdraw due to discomfort.

Since then, the midfielder has been undergoing treatment but has not progressed sufficiently to be considered for selection. His absence leaves Silva with limited creative options as the Cottagers look to secure a positive result against one of the league’s title contenders.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Silva confirmed the player’s unavailability while also providing updates on other members of his squad.

“Alex (Iwobi) is out still, plus Kevin. Kenny (Tete), we will have to see how he reacts to the last two sessions. He can probably be involved in the game,” Silva told the club’s official website.

“We have some doubts on some players, but we will assess them tomorrow to see how they react from things that happened in the week.”

The Fulham manager’s comments suggest a degree of uncertainty surrounding several fitness concerns within the squad, with late assessments expected to determine final availability.

While Kenny Tete could still feature if he responds well in training, Silva’s priority will be managing player workload carefully amid a congested schedule.

Iwobi’s absence is particularly notable given his influence in linking midfield play and supporting attacking transitions.
